Collecting my Thoughts:
"Many employers really do give Thanksgiving Day off. This morning I had quite a search to find an open coffee shop. Panera’s, Caribou, Starbucks, Bob Evans, Tim Horton’s, Wendy’s, McDonald’s. All were closed so employees could enjoy time with their families, or time to sleep in, or time to clean the garage. "

Hugh's Review of Reviews

Now I am making a serious attempt to reopen my career as a writer of criticism.

Writing record reviews of band music in the old days, 1960 on, worked best when I had a dead line and got the draft copy done, then a retype in the post in order to get paid.

My second monthly job of reviewing newly published sheet music for wind instruments was much harder, negative reviews were not be included because there was so much sent in so to write positvely all the tieme was difficult and they had no dead-lines, next month was good enough.

I got the first job by spotting a niche on the UK national monthly RECORD REVIEW, now part of Hi-Fi News, and applying to the editor; and the second in the same way with The Musical Times but I was now "experienced. "
EVEN if not terribly well qualified being still a music student.

BLOGGER - Knowledge Base - What to do if your Mom discovers your blog...

Join the prestigious ranks of literary superstars like Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain) and Eric Arthur Blair (George Orwell) who, just like you, required pen names to keep their Moms blissfully cloaked in ignorance.

To do this, you can edit your Blogger user profile and change your name. If you make an alias out of your pet’s name and the street you grew up on, (for me: Bruce Upwey) be aware that your Mom will see right through that. Be creative
BLOGGER - Knowledge Basse - How Not to Get Fired Because of Your Blog
"Do you blog at work? Do you check your referrer logs and surf the blogosphere all day from your office?

Do you think it might be funny to mock your co-workers publicly, or that it could be a good idea to post photos of sensitive corporate information on your blog?

If only Blogger Support could have reached this unfortunate Blogger sooner. Folks, this doesn't have to happen to you. "

You may not need the books just google some of the phrases
Google Search: sacral spot

and I look for definitons of new (to me) words.

Merriam-Webster OnLine: "Etymology: New Latin, from Late Latin os sacrum last bone of the spine, literally, holy bone, translation of Greek hieron osteon
Date: 1753
: the part of the vertebral column that is directly connected with or forms a part of the pelvis and in humans consists of five fused vertebrae "

Google Search: sacral

Sacral Dimple - DrGreene.com - caring for the next generation: "A little hole at the base of the tailbone is called a sacral dimple or a sacral pit. "

Google Search: "sacral dimple"

MEDLINEplus Medical Encyclopedia: Pilonidal cyst and dimple: "A pilonidal dimple is a small pit or sinus in the sacral area just at the top of the crease between the buttocks. The pilonidal dimple may also be a deep tract, rather than a shallow depression, leading to a sinus that may contain hair. During adolescence the pilonidal dimple or tract may become infected forming a cyst-like structure called a pilonidal cyst. These pilonidal cysts may require surgical drainage or total excision to prevent reinfection. "

PICTURE

What it is: "The term 'Pilonidal' technically means 'nest of hairs'. This is not always true and there are people who have Pilonidal Cysts that have no hair in them (usually women) although there is no explanation of why. A Pilonidal Cyst is basically a sac beneath the outer skin. The inside of the sac is lined with skin cells and it is here that your problem begins.... Pilonidal Cysts are highly prone to excruciatingly painful infections."

What it is: "Pilonidal Cysts are medically related to a group of diseases known as Follicular Occlusion - meaning blocked hair follicles. At one time it was believed that Pilonidal Cysts were all congenital -- current medical philosophy is that very few of these cysts are congenital and most are acquired. "

What it is: "Pictures - We start with the low-gore drawings on this page. The drawings below show a cyst with several sinus openings. Not everyone who has a cyst will have the small holes (sinus openings). On the next pages the pictures show actual people's cysts. The picture pages load slowly for those of you on dial-up.... "

My diagnoisis

: "Because of the high suspicion of an incarcerated right inguinal hernia, the patient was taken to the operating room. Exploration of the right groin showed serosanguineous fluid with fat necrosis but no hernia.

A Bassini repair was done and the fluid drained.
Postoperatively, fluid reaccumulated in the right groin, and the patient's amylase and lipase values remained elevated. The patient still complained of discomfort in the right groin but had no abdominal complaints. A CT scan, obtained to rule out pancreatic pseudocyst, showed calcified pancreas and a complex pseudocyst dissecting into the right inguinal region (Fig 1). The fluid collection in the right groin was percutaneously drained and found to have an amylase value >1,930 U/L."
