I have just blogged my family history message http://hughw36.blogspot.com/ and if you click in the side bar you cans see some more of my writing projects. I decided to self-publish in this way because it forces me to write every day.
I enjoy indexing and this site http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/ - site map http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/sitemap.html - is beginning to look like a small book on Danish genealogy, the next stage will be to get an ISBN number and send a copy to the deposit libraries in Denmark and England.
Electronic publishing is its infancy but sure beats vanity press with expence, storage and markeing problems non exstant. < just used google to check my spelling http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22non+exstant%2E%22
Mrs Google said:- Did you mean: "non existent."
No I did not Fru Google, because I learnt latin as a kid nearly 60 years ago - reading about plagiarism and style yesterday, as background to an email, on various university web sites I saw the LATIN is now OUT - better "for example" than EG.
But being the kind of writer I am I like both using and enjoy reading unusual words in a way it is still fun to learn a new word every day. I am not writing romance novels whichhave to be cliche filled to match their market, I do read Mills and Boone, they have just sent me two medical romances for free and a very nice pen as a present to try and get my monthly subscription going again, I cal it market research but sometimes even weep a little. My model novellist remains John Fowles because he writes with an extended english, but I enjou the pulps too.
About chatrooms - I usually hang out on AOL in the genealogical ones full of old women and hosuewives who often write about their catsand dogs too.
my bloog link´s to my other online writing friends http://moc-topsgolb.blogspot.com/and I will post this there too
mw-ville can be a full time job if you don't watch out
more than 30 topics yesterday and 29 new messages since 200 am when i went to bed - it often runs at 2 to 300 a day - totally unmoderated, except by peer pressure, and uncensored.

the sun just up on schedule the big ORANGE !
it is one fingers width to the left of the most southerly of the 20 odd ten floor towers i can see - at the solstice it was to the right of the same block.
When I was a night taxi driver in Copenhagen the dawn meant time to go home, but now I have to put up a big piece of cardboard to kee the sun out of my eyes so I can still see this laptop's screen.
lots more mail to do until I usually ´return to bed at 900am
I see Simon has a chat scheduled so I will try and join you there today
regards to all

I've noticed that when she is challenged, she rarely has much to say in return. Kind of like the little kid who says 'Nyaah, you're dumb and your mother is dumb too,' and then covers his ears so he can't hear anyone argue. "
SOME OF THOSE GUYS JUST GET THEIR ROCKS OFF ON ARGUING
I tend to skim MW these days, it's running at 200 plus messages daily - I read highest one in twenty

Internet Geek Image Shattered by New Study! This sounds like a farcical headline ripped from the Onion, but in fact it's Reuters response to the World Internet Project: a study which finds that, surprise surprise, surfers read and have social lives. To get the results, the WIP polled both Net-heads and Luddites from 14 countries."
Reuters | Latest Financial News / Full News Coverage: "For example, the gender gap is most pronounced in Italy and smallest in Taiwan. According to the study, 41.7 percent of Italian men are online compared to 21.5 percent of Italian women. In Taiwan, the difference is 25.1 percent for men and 23.5 percent for women.
The digital divide, a phrase used to describe how poverty impacts Web usage, appears to be tightening around the world, Cole said.
In seven of the 12 countries for which the information was available, more than 20 percent of the poorest segment of the population uses the Internet. Sweden, Korea"
Reuters | Latest Financial News / Full News Coverage: "The Chinese, meanwhile, are among the most active Net socialisers. According to the study, Chinese Internet users say they rely on the medium to interact with others who share their political interests, hobbies and faith.
'It's more than in any other country and a significant figure for citizens of a nation in which religion is officially banned,' the study said of Chinese users' willingness to discuss religion online with others"
World Internet Project: " 'The invention of the Internet has forever altered the world we live in. Not since the industrial revolution have we seen such profound change in the way we work... we shop... we get our news... and conduct business. The UCLA Internet Study will provide policy makers with a better understanding of the impact the Internet is having on our society.'
-William M. Daley, Secretary of Commerce, USA
The originators of this project believe that the Internet (in whatever distribution system: PC, television, wireless or some yet to be developed system) will transform our social, political and economic lives. We further believe that the influence and importance of the Internet will dwarf that of the most important cultural influence of the past 50 years: television. Potentially the Internet represents change on the order of the industrial revolution or the printing press. Believing this, our Internet Project is designed to get in on the ground floor of that change and to watch and document what happens as households and nations acquire and use the Internet. "

My good friend Katherine Prouty has launched her low carb blog. Please do drop by and check it out if you are interested in low carb eating. She's got store reviews, menus and some other good stuff up there. You'll find lots of info about stuff like the Atkins diet, where to buy low carb foods and which stores are low carb friendly. "
